Natural resources conservation and management
natural resources conservation and management

In Tanzania, rural communities strongly depend on environmental resources for their survival and livelihood. OEA implements conservation programmes based on scientific data collection and analysis with the aim of enhancing local populations and authorities’ knowledge and skills in using and managing natural resources without causing long term damages to life-support ecological systems and biodiversity. To this end, OEA works in constant collaboration with national and international universities, rural communities and national parks authorities to develop sustainable, participated and effective strategies for natural resources conservation and management.
OEA main area of intervention and expertise is the Mount Meru Ecosystem, where Arusha National Park is located.
